Logan & Cove Mattress: Luxury Sleep at an Affordable Price

When was the last time you got a good night sleep?

Chances are, if you are at home, it’s been recent. Maybe even as recent as last night. But, if you are travelling, it might have been awhile.

As a regular traveller, I’ve slept on pretty much everything. Airport floors, dodgy hostel bunk beds, and sprawling king size beds in luxury hotels. Some mattresses are too soft, too hard, lumpy, or flat. In Vietnam, I’m convinced that my ‘mattresses’ were actually just wooden boards.

I’ve learned to be able to sleep just about anywhere (except for planes, still can’t manage that one), but that doesn’t mean I like it. Which is why, like so many other travellers, one of the things I get the most excited about when I come home is my bed. Especially now that I have a Logan & Cove luxury mattress.

Logan and Cove Luxury Mattress

When I was approached by Logan & Cove by GoodMorning.com with the idea of being able to order a mattress online and have it delivered to my door, I was a little bit skeptical. I went mattress shopping two years ago with my mom when she needed a new one, and we lay on mattress after mattress after mattress trying to find the best one. It took FOREVER. So, how could I just pick one online? What if I didn’t like it? After all, as a regular traveller my bed is my little slice of heaven. Its where I recoup from jetlag, catch a good night sleep before a super early morning flight, or just get to relax after weeks (or months) of sleeping in hostel dorms. You don’t mess with my bed.

However, a quick look at the Logan & Cove website made me second guess my original concern. Logan & Cove mattresses offer a 120-night sleep trial; that’s the longest risk-free sleep trial in Canada. If you don’t like it, they arrange a pick up and provide a full refund. All they ask is that you give it a month to really try it out and adjust. That seemed pretty fair.

Perhaps the most intriguing part though is that Logan & Cove does not sell used mattresses. So what happens to the ones that are returned? They are donated to local charity, or to someone who needs it. I found this interesting as that’s a pretty brave claim to make on a mattress that people are taking a chance on. Pretty brave or, very confident that they really do have an exceptional luxury mattress.

After a bit more research I found more and more that I liked about the idea. Small things like the recycled cardboard packaging they are delivered in, easy delivery options that came to my door, and the fact that Logan and Cove mattresses are made in Canada made it even more attractive. I was also intrigued by the concept that this inner-spring/memory foam hybrid mattress came rolled up in a box; it may seem silly, but I was very curious to know how that worked.

However, the real surprise was the price. I’m no mattress expert, but even I knew that the numbers I was seeing on my computer screen were significantly lower than what I saw with my mom at the mattress stores around the city. Turns out that by ordering online and kicking out the middle man, you can save a good chunk of money when buying a high quality luxury mattress. Who knew?

Since the good outweighed the bad, I decided why not? At worst, I could say it wasn’t for me and someone in my community would have a new bed. At best, I’d fall in love with it and have amazing sleeps. When you look at it that way, there’s no reason not to try.

My Logan and Cove mattress arrived days after placing the order. A tall, thin box arrived right to my door. My brother picked it up and took it upstairs no problem, and we both watched with a little bit of awe as a luxurious mattress unfurled from the packaging. Compared to my old mattress, this Logan and Cove pillow top mattress looked like a super thick, cushiony cloud and I couldn’t wait to try it.

Logan & Cove

The Logan & Cove mattress is described as medium-firm so I was a bit nervous about trying it out. My old mattress had been soft, which I loved, though somehow over the past year or so I became a stomach sleeper and sometimes found that my soft mattress wasn’t as supportive as it should be. A quick lay-down test after unpacking confirmed that this mattress was significantly more supportive than my old one. No doubt my back and neck would thank me for it, but when it came time to actually sleep, would I like still it?

Turns out I did. In fact, I don’t just like it, I love it. So when garbage day came a week later I had no sad feelings about putting my old, worn mattress out on the curb. I had moved on to more comfortable, more luxurious, and more supportive things. I wasn’t looking back.

I’m not going to lie. It definitely took a bit of getting used to, but that’s to be expected. I never found it uncomfortable, just different. It was firmer than my old one, and higher (though the height bit I loved right away and I joked that it made me feel like a princess). That being said, it didn’t keep me up at night or make it hard to fall asleep. I just moved around a bit more than usual. However, after only ten days I had adjusted and was back to my normal sleeping patterns. The only problem? My dog seems to like it just as much as I do, and is convinced I should share.

Logan and Cove

So, do I recommend a Logan and Cove mattress? Absolutely. Not only is it comfortable and supportive, but it’s also affordable. As a travel-addict, cost factors huge into all of my buying. So the fact that this Canadian made luxury mattress can be purchased at such an affordable price is a huge plus from my point of view. Better sleeps and money saved to put towards travel; what’s not to love about that?

Disclaimer: Logan & Cove sent me a mattress for consideration of review. All opinions however are, as always, my own.
