This trip is fully booked, if you would like to be added to the waitlist please reach out to Hannah following the details below
Think that the Maldives is all high-end, expensive resorts for honeymooners?
Think again!
I’m super excited to announce that I will be hosting an ESBT Maldives Boat Trip for October 2026.
So, if you are a fellow mermaid and love the idea of days on a boat snorkelling and island hopping then read on, because this trip is for you.
About Eat Sleep Breathe Travel Group Trips
I started running ESBT Group Trips with the intent of offering fun, adventurous trips to various destinations around the world to readers and followers. The goal is to take the stress out of travel and to connect with like-minded people while exploring and learning.
As such, ESBT group trips tend to be busy itineraries that aim to provide the best value for your money. This might mean things like longer drive days, lots of walking, or back-to-back activities with limited free time. We also may go ‘off-grid’ at times and have little, or no, internet access. These are travel adventures, not laid-back vacations. Please always read through the itinerary to understand the plans, schedule, and level of activity involved. I also strongly recommend that you to do your own destination research to check things like climate, weather, and culture to ensure it is something you are comfortable with.
In addition, ESBT group trips are meant to be inclusive, safe spaces where everyone is welcome. In joining these tours, you are agreeing to continue to promote this theme and to treat all other travellers with kindness and respect. Along these lines, it is up to you to ensure that you are healthy enough to join. Rooms and spaces are often shared so I ask you to be considerate of your fellow travellers and seek medical attention ahead of time if you are feeling unwell.
If you have any concerns or questions about the itinerary or destination based on your personal needs, please reach out to me.
ESBT MALDIVES SAIL & SNORKEL 2026
Dates
This trip will run from October 4th- 11th, 2026. We start and end in Male- the main island with the international airport. Embarkation starts around noon on the 4th and disembarkation is at 9am on the 11th, so please plan all flights accordingly. I highly recommend you arrive at least one day before in case of any flight delays or problems.
About This Trip
This is a sailing trip. We will be living on a boat and island hopping around the Maldives for a week of water and island-based adventures. Our home will be a traditional dhoni-style boat that will hold 12 guests. This will be our home for the duration of the trip. This means we will be sleeping on board as well; all rooms are twin-share bunk beds, so to join this trip you MUST be comfortable sharing a space with another traveller. There are no single supplement options on this trip.
This is a water-focused trip with daily sailing and snorkelling stops. There will be a few island-based adventures as well, but most of the time will be spent on or in the water. As such, you must know how to swim and be comfortable in the water.
Since we are living on a boat, it means you will be with people at all times. It’s totally ok to be an introvert and want some quiet space to read or listen to a podcast etc. However, if you are someone who needs alone time and their own space regularly, this is NOT the trip for you.
Also, please note this is an adventure boat trip. Do not expect wifi (or even regular cell service), TVs in rooms etc. This is a sailing adventure, not a fancy cruise.
Itinerary
We will be following a pre-existing itinerary set out by the tour company (Intrepid Travel). You can find more details and information on that here. We will be island hopping and visiting different snorkel sites (coral reefs, ship wrecks etc.) daily.
Cost & Inclusions
The cost for this trip is $3600 CAD (a little cheaper than the listed price for our dates!).
Due to the nature of this trip (me renting out an entire boat) the deposit is higher than normal at $1000 CAD per person. Deposit is required to secure your spot and is non-refundable.
The trip costs include all transport and accommodation (the boat) as well as meals while on board (7 lunches, 7 breakfasts, 7 dinners). If you have any allergies or food intolerances please flag me (Hannah) asap so I can double check that we can accommodate them while on board as things are a bit trickier being on a boat.
Flights, travel insurance (mandatory), any necessary visas, tips for the crew, as well as any extra spending or activities outside of the itinerary are not included.
Snorkel equipment is provided on board. However, as snorkelling is a huge focus of this trip, I do advise bringing your own to ensure best quality and fit (if you have a dive shop near you, it’s a great idea to visit in person because not all masks fit the same).
Important to Note
- Maldives is a dry country. Alcohol is only available on resort islands, not local islands, so expect this to be a dry trip.
- Maldives is a Muslim country which means you will need to cover up more in public places. This is a boat/swimming trip so swimsuits will obviously be worn, but you are expected to dress respectfully wear and appropriate clothing for island visits. This will be discussed more in-depth before departure.

Given that this is an entire boat rental, it works differently than my other trips. We do need 12 people to run this trip at this price and I only have 2 weeks to fill the boat. Deposits will be collected once we ensure we have enough people. If needed, there will be a waitlist.
