Hlogan Books

Before I started travelling and getting lost in cities, I got lost in books.

I’ve always loved to read and a lot of my travel inspiration, especially in the beginning, came from books.

Which is why, after over a decade of storytelling here on the blog, I decided to try something completely different and start writing novels. The stories and characters are fictional but the settings are inspired by my own adventures- some of which you can even find here on the blog.

My debut novel, If It Makes You Happy, is set in some of my favourite Greek Islands.

My latest release, Polar Plunge, is set on an expedition ship on a 23-day journey to Antarctica, South Georgia, and The Falklands.

If It Makes You Happy

If It Makes You Happy by Hannah Logan book cover featuring a small colourful watercolour village with pink flowers and a blue sailboat.

We both have completely different lives in completely separate parts of the world. Our being together literally has an expiration date. We both know that.

By any definition, this is a vacation fling.

So, why does it bother me so much to think of it that way?

Twenty-nine-year-old Vancouverite Calla Barlowe has been dreaming about a romantic Greek vacation for years. Walks down flower-filled streets, romantic taverna dinners, and luxury hotels offering private pools with sunset views.

After getting stood up - and then dumped, Calla decides that she’s done waiting for Mr. Right to whisk her off on her perfect vacation. Instead, she books a flight to Greece.

Alone.

Despite her original apprehension, Calla soon discovers the joys of solo travel and the sense of independence that comes with it. But when a quiet, dark-eyed local man enters the picture, Calla has to figure out what she really wants.

Can she handle a casual vacation fling? Or will this unexpected island romance end in heartbreak?

Note: This book includes open door spice, body image issues, and brief mentions of death.

Polar Plunge

Polar Plunge

Known for its incredible wildlife and vast, icy landscapes, Antarctica is a dream destination for many.

Just not for Max Lapointe.

Yet after the most difficult year of her life, that’s exactly where she finds herself: alone at the bottom of the world and ready to board the Polar Star on a twenty-three-day expedition cruise that will take her to Antarctica, South Georgia, and the Falkland Islands.

Angry and afraid, Max does her best to keep to herself. But in doing so, she attracts the interest of Reid. Popular, charming, and ridiculously gorgeous, he’s determined to bring Max out of her shell and figure out what she’s hiding.

Sparks fly and tension rises as playful banter turns into something more. The only problem?  Max is a guest, and Reid is a member of the expedition crew. Which means that any relationship between them is strictly forbidden.

With Reid’s entire future on the line, should this onboard romance be left to fizzle and die?

Or is it worth taking the plunge?

Note: this book contains open door spice, and mentions of anxiety, death, and panic attacks.
