Supporting local has become more important than ever in 2020 and you can help by choosing to shop with them rather than via major businesses and conglomerates such as amazon. There are thousands of creative artisans out there who create beautiful, high quality products that will make anyone on your Christmas list smile. So, for this year, I’ve put together this small business gift guide for travellers featuring some of my favourite products and top picks.

Encircled

If you are a regular follower, you will recognize this brand as one I mention a lot. I love encircled clothing and highly recommend it to anyone. It’s high quality, super comfortable, and perfect for travel. I have several pieces but my go-to favourites are the evolve top (pictured above) and the dressy sweatpants. Take a look at encircled clothing here.

Insider tip: Encircled is having a special Black Friday sale on the black dressy sweatpants. On November 27th they are 30% off! Discount code: FRIDAY.

Diane Kroe

Hannah Logan wearing butterfly wrap from Diane Kroe

Another designer that I talk about a lot here is Diane Kroe. She specializes in stylish travel wear and creates versatile designs that are ideal for capsule wardrobes. Not only do I love her clothing but I love that her line takes different body shapes and sizes into consideration. I’m actually a curvy ambassador for her and have tried and tested a few of her designs. My go-to favourites are the layer jacket, pocket pants, and the butterfly wrap as a cover-up for beach destinations (pictured above). Take a look at her collection here. PS: Use promo code HANNAH10 to save 10% on your total purchase!

3D Wooden World Map

Wood World Map

Scratch maps are cute but, let’s be honest, not always the prettiest things to display. However, these wooden world maps would be a stunning addition to any home. This unique wooden map has rave reviews and ships worldwide. There are four different sizes so you can choose what best suits your space. Get your 3D wooden world map here.

Sadie and June Vintage Heart Maps

heart map

I met this duo at a local craft show years ago and fell in love with their vintage map artwork. They take maps of different parts of the world (or the whole world) and embroider hearts around one, or two cities. It’s perfect to remind people of their hometown, favourite countries. It’s also great for any long distance couples to show where each one comes from. You can also customize your map with initials or dates.  Create your custom heart map here.

Funny Foodie T-shirts

Challah at ya girl t-shirt

Brittany of the Sweet Wanderlust is one of my best friends. She’s a fellow travel blogger and a foodie with a great mind for puns. If you have a travelling foodie on your list, check out her fun t-shirt shop! The majority of these tees feature funny food-related puns that are sure to make you giggle. A couple of fun travel related ones include “(image of a donut) mess with Texas” and “Challah at ya girl”. Take a look at her t-shirts here.

Maple and Oak

I met Leonie, the designer behind Maple and Oak, at a local craft show a couple of years ago. She had a table full of bright, patterned, colourful items and it was love at first sight. I have several of her rockabilly headbands (something I had always wanted to try but didn’t know how to make it work for me until Leonie showed me how). Which are awesome for travel (especially those bad hair days when you just need to get your hair off your face). She also designs really cute coin purses which I tend to use for jewelry when I travel. Check out her products here.

Statement Earrings

Clayesque Earrings

When I travel I tend to pack pretty basic pieces then rely on fun accessories to change up my outfits and add personality. After all, earrings and necklaces are a lot lighter to pack then a whole other outfit! Clayesque Earrings offer bold, colourful, handmade statement earrings that will add a pop or personality to any basic travel outfit. Take a look at these fun designs.

Engraved Passport Wallet

Engraved passport wallet

I love having a passport wallet to keep my passport separate and easy to find. These leather passport wallets are perfect for that and can even be customized with your name, a favourite quote, or travel design both outside and inside the wallet. There are several options to choose from for fonts as well making this a truly personal travel gift idea. Take a look here.

Not all Who Wander Are Lost Throw Pillow

travel themed pillow

Many travellers (myself included) love having travel themed décor in their home. This travel themed throw pillow is a fun find and would be a great addition to any traveller’s couch or bedroom. You can get plain background with the text but, personally, I love the bright colours of the map. Get your pillow here.

Personalized Camera Straps

Personalized camera straps

Do you have a photographer on your holiday shopping list? A personalized camera strap could be a fun idea. In my experience, the kit straps are always, well, pretty crappy. I never find them to be secure enough so I always end up buying a new one. These colourful leather camera straps, which you can even choose to personalize, are a great choice. Reviews speak highly of the quality and colour options available. Check out the options here.

Hopefully this gift guide for travellers has given you some ideas for the travel lovers on your list!

Please do your best to support small and local businesses this holiday season. I you aren’t sure where to look, Etsy is a great place to find small businesses and artists.
