What would you say if I told you there was a stylish bag big enough to fit your DSLR camera with two or three additional lenses, a laptop, and regular everyday purse items? A bag that can slip over the handle of your carry-on suitcase so you don’t have to worry about any extra weight on your shoulders? A bag that is waterproof- ensuring your tech items inside are safe.

Would you believe me?

Well my fellow travel ladies, I’m not lying. This magical bag does exist: it’s the Valencia Travel Tote from Aide de Camp.

Best Travel Bag for Female Photographers

I’ll be honest. When it comes to packing I hate putting together my carry-on bag. As a regular traveller who works on the road, I have a lot of gadgets to bring with me. Not only do I need to worry about keeping them safe and protected, but I also need to consider what will be comfortable for me to lug around the airport without breaking my back. I’ve gone back and forth between backpacks and tote bags, struggling to find the perfect solution. Tote bags offer lots of room but are so uncomfortable on my shoulders and slide off the top of my carry-on suitcase when I try to balance it. Backpacks can get really bulky really quickly, and again I usually have something (tri-pod or go pro floating stick are the usual culprits) digging into my back. And from personal experience, I can tell you that trying to run for a flight with either is a pain in the butt.

So when Aide De Camp reached out to me wondering if I was interested in testing one of their camera travel totes, I couldn’t say ‘YES’ fast enough.

The Valencia tote is essentially two bags in one. The first is the stylish tote bag visible in the photo. The second is a camera bag that fits into the main shell, made from the same material in the same colour. The camera bag is padded, with adjustable dividers that you can arrange or remove however needed. You can carry the camera bag in the outer tote, or remove it to carry on its own. Not only is it handy for keeping your gear protected and all in one space, but it also doesn’t look like a traditional camera bag. Perfect for travellers worried about pickpockets or thieves.

Once at your destination, if you don’t want to carry around all your photography gear. You can take the camera bag out and use the shell as your purse. The simple but classic style matches any outfits and an adjustable crossbody strap, or leather handles, make it easy and comfortable to carry. There’s plenty of room to throw in everything you need for the day, and several pockets to keep things organized. And don’t forget, the exterior is waterproof, meaning your belongings are safe from any unexpected bad weather.

Valencia Travel Tote

Even if larger purses aren’t your thing, it’s still the perfect travel bag for flights. The size is large enough to fit everything you will need to bring on the plane with you, but small enough to still be considered a small carry-on item by most airlines. You can slip your smaller bag that you would normally use inside, and slide the Valencia tote over the handle of your carry on while travelling. Leaving your neck, shoulders, and back free from any extra and uncomfortable weight. Because let’s be honest, flights are uncomfortable enough without being sore from lugging a heavy bag on your shoulder for three hours before your flight.

For an overseas vacation, a weekend getaway, or even just a day at the beach, the Valencia Travel Tote is perfect for any female traveller looking for a stylish, comfortable, and safe way to travel with their photography gear and electronics. It’s certainly become my go-to.

I have a similar bag and I love it so much. I am looking to getting a smaller shoulder bag which is a little smarter and more versatile. However, I love how you use the small bag on top of your suitcase. It makes it much easier to just carry both around. Really great bag! Thank you for sharing this.

For days going out, I prefer smaller. But when at the airport or on a train and I need to keep it all on me- this is perfect!

It looks really universal! But oh my, you do carry a LOT of equipment with you!

Definitely plan to check this bag out! Also, curious as to what you use as your main suitcase. I have a hiking backpack I like for trips where I’m moving around a lot but am looking for a carry-on wheeled suitcase for shorter trips to places like New York and Vegas where I don’t want to bring my backpack.
