If you read my article on why you need to visit Inis Mor, you’ll know that it’s one of my favourite places in Ireland. Sure, you can go for a day trip, but I definitely recommend spending a night for the real experiences. Most options for accommodation on Inis Mor are located in or near Kilronan- the main port area and capital of the island, however, there are a couple options in different places around the island as well. Here are the best places to stay on Inis Mor.

Aran Walkers Lodge

If your ideal hotel on Inis Mor is a cute and homey B&B type property, then look no further than Aran Walkers lodge. It’s a small hotel with only a few rooms that offer mountain or sea views. A basic continental breakfast is included in the price; however, you can upgrade to a full Irish breakfast for a fee. Guests love the location which is outside of the port town, and closer to the main attractions such as Dun Aonghasa. Bike rental service is available to guests.

Tigh Fitz Bed & Breakfast

Tigh Fitz B&B

Tigh Fitz Bed and Breakfast is about 1.6km away from Kilronan, but offers beautiful views over Galway Bay. A ten-minute walk from restaurants and beaches, this Inis Mor B&B is also close to one of the island’s main attractions, Tempeall Benainn, which is the smallest church in Europe. Rooms are comfortable and homey and guests are invited to relax in the property’s garden. Guests can’t say enough good things about the service at this Irish B&B.

Ard Einne House

Ard Einne House, Inis Mor

Another homey choice for accommodation on Inis Mor is Ard Einne House. It’s a little further away from the port area, closer to the airport, but offers beautiful views across the sea to the coastlines of Galway and Clare. Rooms are ensuite with complimentary toiletries, and there is a big sitting room with a fireplace where guests can sit and read or relax after a busy day exploring. This Inis Mor hotel is known for its fantastic breakfast and friendly owners.

Kilronan Hostel

Kilronan Hostel

If you are a backpacker or travelling on a budget, then consider spending the night at Kilronan Hostel in Inis Mor. This beachfront hostel has both dorm and private room options and is a favourite among solo travellers. There is a kitchen, garden, lounge area, and bar perfect for relaxing and meeting other travellers. Kilronan Hostel also offers free continental breakfast and bike hires for those wanting to explore the island. Guests love this accommodation option on Inis Mor for it’s staff and location.

Hello. You make me want to be there in Ireland every time I see your stories. My dream is to go there and maybe Germany. Unfortunately my husband and I are still busy working. The time we have off we go to Michigan to see my mother as she is still with us at 88. We try to take small weekend trips now and then and maybe end up in a Irish pub. We live in Florida near Gulf of Mexico and really enjoy visiting Ragland Roads bar in downtown Disney. The Irish dancers are great as well as the music. The place is always packed.
When we decide to start planning a trip to Ireland I hope we still have your great advise at hand. We are not to much into museums. We like to meet the people and see how everyone lives. We want to taste ,smell, hear, feel how the Irish live. Could I even say I would love your job or maybe be an aid of yours. Lol. Thanks for all the info. Happy reading.
